Meet Our Doctors

Rhet Scherschligt, DDS

Dr. Rhett has worked with our family for many years. Excellence describes his practice. He also has an easy going manner, that would put a patient with some anxiety about a dental visit at complete ease.

Dr. Scherschligt grew up in Colorado and Sydney, Australia. In the early 1980’s he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah for middle school and high school. He attended the University of Utah where he received his Bachelors of Science in Human Biology with a Chemistry minor in 1993. In 1999 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Ohio State University. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with several scholastic and clinical achievement awards. He was ranked first of 105 dental students and was the valedictorian of his dental class. Dr. S. and his wife, Michelle have five beautiful and talented daughters. They stay busy with high school sports, club soccer, dancing, hiking, and traveling. He strives to live every day to its fullest. His personal motto is, “Because Quality Matters.” This can be seen in his academics, continuing education, and dental work. He strives to exemplify quality in his daily dental work. Many patients feel this in how he cares for their teeth. Come on in and discover the fabulous and caring style of Dr. Scherschligt.

Melissa Nordstrom, DMD

Dr. Luis Franco - Endodontist

I had a retreat root canal done yesterday, and have had zero pain afterward. Dr. Franco has the nicest bedside manner and has the greatest skills to go along with kindness. I highly recommend using him for your endodontics!

Dr. Franco is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an officer. He received his degree in Flight Operations from Westminster College, DDS from the University of Utah and completed his residency in Endodontics at Boston University. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association. Dr. Franco has a passion for educating others about patient care and the incredibly interesting world of endodontics. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming and learning how to play the piano and electric guitar.

Dr. Shaun Heward - Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

I had oral surgery today. I had anesthesia and everything went perfectly. The whole team was great! Dr. Shaun Heward, the surgeon, is so caring and kind. He called me twice before my surgery to explain everything that would be done and to answer my questions. It really put me at ease.

Dr. Shaun Heward was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. He attended Alta High School and completed his undergraduate at University of Utah. During this time he worked as a dental laboratory technician making crowns and bridges. He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he completed dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he began medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School. While at the University of Michigan, he also completed his internship in general surgery, residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was a chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heward has extensive surgical training in corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), tumors/cysts of the jaws, face trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, cleft lip and palate, face reconstruction and bone grafting. He is delighted to have moved back to his home state of Utah and working with Platinum Dental Services. He also has a passion for serving others abroad and continues to treat less fortunate patients on mission trips overseas. When Dr. Heward is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, biking, shooting, gardening, wood working and cooking.

Dr. Parker Haycock - Orthodontist

The orthodontist Dr. Haycock and his assistant took great care of me, answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything. I’ve never had this high quality of care with my previous dental providers.

After completing his undergraduate degree at University of Utah, he received his dental degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He then furthered his education at residency and received a Masters in Science of Dentistry. Dr. Haycock’s educational endeavors and his rigorous training on the latest techniques and technologies have prepared him to be an excellent addition to our orthodontic team. He works hard with his colleagues to create the best possible treatment plan and care for his patients. He now lives with his wife, three kids, and dog in Salt Lake County, and spends his free time playing soccer and skiing.

Dr. Robert Swenson - Periodontist

Seeing a dentist is rarely at the top of the list of fun things to do. Dr Swenson and his staff may not have put it on the top of the list but they definitely helped move it up several notches. They were professional, competent and friendly. Highly recommend him if you are looking for a good Periodontist.

Dr. Swenson grew up in Utah County, he attended Pleasant Grove and Mountain View high schools. After high school he served a mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in France and Switzerland. After his mission, Dr. Swenson attended BYU and earned a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. Dr. Swenson later moved to Richmond, Virginia to attend VCU dental school. While there he met his wife, Andrea, as she returned from her mission in Colorado. They were married in the Washington, DC temple. Dr. Swenson graduated from Dental school in 2015 with his DDS degree, honors from Quintessence Publications for his research in Oral Cancer, and honors from the American Academy of Periodontology for his work in Periodontics.
